WOYWW 282 & 283

I was getting my supplies ready to film a mixed media project last week and even photographed my workdesk for last weeks WOYWW when our main computer was hit with multiple viruses simultaneously. My husband called me immediately and I was able to disconnect my network from the internet and isolate the computer to stop the spread but the desktop was toast. Windows and Office were rendered useless and after 3 days of chasing down and killing viruses I finally gave up, wiped all the hard drives clean, bought Windows 8.1 and started over. All is back up and running, I have better virus and malware protection and my husband is actually handling the change to Windows 8.1 better than I expected. He usually does NOT handle change! Now I can go back to crafting.

This was my desk last week just as the viruses hit. The big clear bottle with the black top is my new spray bottle that was designed in Holland and purchased through my hairdresser. It sprays such a beautiful mist with no drops.

And this is my desk today all ready for my next project to be filmed today as soon as I design one more Christmas card.

Til next time...

Oh to be hit with a virus like that. We do take these techy things for granted don't we? Hope it's all sorted for you and you can enjoy your creative time again.

You are so clever to know that you were being hit and to disconnect things. I just have the one computer and wouldn't know what to do if I got attacked. Just hope my virus buster is good enough. Hope your filming goes smoothly after all that craziness. Have a great week,

Cool idea to make use of a hairspray bottle. I'm guessing it doesn't clog up either. Sometimes I WANT the drips but better control is always good.

Hope your virus issues are sorted - makes me happy to be on a Mac :) cause the thought terrifies me.

Happy WOYWW!

Belated WOYWW wishes, and thanks for visiting my blog this week.

I'm still working on snowflake banners for the "Frozen" BD party, thus I'm late in returning visits......what's a GMa to do???

I LOVE your craft space, and that counter top is divine. My Christmas cards are on the back burner for now, hope to get back to them ASAP!

Unfortunately, we all go through the computer trials. :( Glad to hear your up and running with new Windows and a clean PC. My DH doesn't like change either, so he doesn't get to use this laptop....LOL
Have a GREAT week

Quick thinking to save the one computer and get the other one up and running again. Your desk looks like a fun place to play with lots of room to spread out. Thanks for the visit earlier! Judy #72

hopefully you get all your bugs cleaned out soon, that is so annoying. I love the idea of using a hairdressers mister bottle for spraying and will have to see if I can find something like that locally. thanks for the visit! ~Stacy #60

Well it certainly pays to back up. I was hit on laptop with couple five in all about a month ago but VERY thankfully they were blocked and quarantined before issues, our computers aren't linked for various reasons so in some ways that is good.
.. makes you wonder why folks do it dont you .. why just senseless love your crafty space and great work below to thanks for popping over Katie, Shaz in Oz.x

The thing of nightmares - viruses that cause chaos and lose you time. Glad you managed to sort it all out so well and now have an upgrade though!! Sorry I am so late visiting, still plugging away at the list!! Annette #18

What a nightmare with the virus! You seem to have coped remarkably well. You are fortunate enough that you can just go out and buy another computer! Some of us would have to start saving up.... I have my most important stuff backed up but I think I wouldn't know what to do if a virus hit me. I just hope that my protection is adequate.
Sorry I'm so late in commenting. I like to comment on all of the posts but there just aren't enough hours in the day...
Thank you for letting me look over your shoulder.
Have a good week.

Hi there. I am SO late visiting this week.
Aaaaarrgggh!!!!!!!!!!!!! Multiple viruses - oh my goodness. Glad all is sorted now though. Trust nothing like that happens again. I wouldn't know where to start - but am SO grateful that hubby knows about these things. He keeps our computers on the straight and narrow for us!
Thanks for visiting this week - so much to do to get straight after viruses, but you have still managed to get round folk. Thank you.
Take care. God bless.
