Dragonflies On a String

Yesterday was "Clean Toilets, Change Sheets, Do Laundry, Etc. Day". Oh joy, oh joy!!! Today I rewarded myself with several hours in the stamp room and this is what I came up with. I used Splitcoast Stampers SC217 and Technique Junkies' Stringing You Along technique. I am really happy with the outcome.

Stamps: TAC (Dragonfly & Butterflies); StampinUp (Tiny butterflies); HeroArts (Tiny dragonflies) JustRite
Cardstock & Ink: StampinUp (Gable Green, Bashful Blue, Perfect Plum, Night of Navy)
Punches: Martha Stewart (border) EK Success (squares)

Better Late Than Never

Valentine's Day has come and gone but I just HAD to show this card. I am not a "cutesie" person but when I saw the word stamps from Studio G I knew exactly what I would do with them. They became the main ingredient for my Faux Designer Paper. This was a really fun card to do.

Paper: StampinUp Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Certainly Celery, Whisper White
Ink: StampinUp
Stamps: Cat, Hearts - All Night Media; Happy (heart) Day - MSE; Background words - Studio G
Punches & Ribbon: StampinUp
Ovals: Spellbinders

February Stamp Club Swap

Every month our Stampers 10 Club does a Challenge Swap. February's Challenge was to create an Adult Female Birthday Card. I wanted to use a technique from Technique Junkies but, me being me, I ended up modifying the technique. I had planned on using the Background Burst Technique but used ink instead of chalk and didn't restamp the background. Not sure if the scan does it justice but here it is.

Stamps: SU Eastern Blooms, Upsy Daisy, Twill
Cardstock & Ink: SU Groovy Guava, Wild Wasabi, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla
Misc: SU Ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing folder and Spellbinders dies.

Pain & Inspiration

Last week I had to make a Sympathy card. How do you even begin to make a card for parents who have just lost their 19 year old daughter in a tragic accident? We've all heard that God speaks in mysterious ways and obviously He's not beyond using the Internet. The answer to my prayer was Becca Feeken. Both her work and her words speak to the soul. Reading her blog and seeing her incredible designs inspires my creativity, gladdens my heart and fills me with the peace and serenity that flows through her from God. My card is certainly not in the same league as her but her spirit helped to guide me and for that I am grateful.

Supplies: Cardstock & ink - Stampin Up & Ranger Distress Ink; Rose stamps & Toile Background - StampinUp; Sentiment - Inkadinkado?; Fern punch - Martha Stewart; Spellbinders Nestabilities and Lace Border; Cuttlebug Embossing folder.

Ooops! Realized the sentiment belongs to the Simply Said set from Melissa Frances.

Trying Again

It has been a year since I have posted anything which is totally ridiculous. Why have a Blog Account if you're not going to use it? Well I am determined to change that. My bestest buddy and A#1 Stampin Up Demonstrator bought me a Technique Junkies Newsletter Subscription and CD #6 for Christmas. That alone should give me plenty of reasons to blog. I have done so many projects through the years but haven't shared them but this year will be different... I hope.
And now to start off ...

3 years ago, this Valentines Day, we adopted a kitten, Bailey and a puppy, Seamus. This is what they looked like back then. Aren't they a hoot?

Now here they are all grown up. Bailey is keeping my purse warm and Seamus is Gopher Hunting.
